Ventnor bay is a sheltered south facing
sandy beach with lifeguards. Beach huts, deckchairs and windbreaks can be hired.

There are shops, cafes and pubs along the esplanade as well as the Longshoreman's museum. |

The harbour and newly built fish quay are at the eastern end of the esplanade. The famous Isle of Wight paddling pool provides safe water fun for small children. |

Live music is everywhere in Ventnor, winter and summer, with outdoor events, bands in most pubs and concerts in the Winter Gardens. |

Jazz musicians from all over the world perform at the Ventnor Jazz Festival, held in April. |

Band concerts are held in Ventnor park where there is also a putting green, gardens and a stream with ducks. |

The Longshoreman's Museum, on the esplanade, is a fascinating record of Ventnor's past from a seafaring aspect. |

Other places well worth a visit are the Ventnor Heritage Museum, in Spring Hill, and the Coastal Defence Centre, in Salisbury Gardens. |

The Botanical Gardens are 22 acres of luxuriant gardens in the most sheltered part of the undercliff. There is also a visitor centre, shop and restaurant.

Ventnor celebrates its carnival in style in August There is a carnival somewhere on the Island every week during the summer. |

Celebrate Ventnor Day is held each year, with a street fair, stalls, music, games and entertainment. |
